Organica Water
FIAS - FCR

ORGANICA

Renexus has partnered with Organica to bring the world leading sustainable wastewater solutions to our communities.

With land values and water scarcity on the rise, it is clear that sustainable water management for any community MUST include onsite treatment and water recycling in population centers, with complete Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) construction in a compact, odorless, botanical garden-like facility.

Our facilities utilise biofilms on natural (plant) and/or engineered root structures, all housed in a fully enclosed, odorless facility. The result is a solution which offers a significantly reduced physical footprint and lower operational and infrastructure costs when compared to conventional wastewater treatment solutions, all in the form of a pleasant botanical garden-like environment that can located right in the center of town.

This proven solution has been adopted by largest waste companies and EPC contractors with more than 110 plants in operation or under construction worldwide including large municipalities to multinational companies such as General Motors, Audi, Alcoa, Shell, Suzuki and General Electric.

CASE STUDY

SOUTH PEST

South Pest facility gets huge upgrade with Organica Water

When constructed in 1966, the South Pest wastewater treatment plant location was considered the outskirts of Budapest. However, due to “urban sprawl”, the neighborhood has grown in around the wastewater facility.

Increased development has resulted in dwellings near the site, as well as increasing loads on the facility, creating both odour and operational issues.

In addition, over the years the owner installed an anaerobic digester converting sludge and external food waste into biogas. The highly concentrated dewatering return liquor of the process significantly enhances the load on the biological treatment process.

In 1999, the treatment plant installed a post-secondary clarifier nitrification-denitrification system in order to meet tighter ammonia consent.

However, this did not fully solve the capacity issues, resulting in higher operating costs, occasional extreme foaming, and foul odors affecting neighborhoods around the property.

The facility had to find a way to resolve all of these issues in the limited space available on the site

WUSONG, CHINA

Keeping Up with the Times – Wusong’s Upgrade!

With a population growth of 24 million, Shanghai is truly the pinnacle of a 21st century city.

However, accelerated urbanization rates pose significant challenges in the design and utilization of water and wastewater facilities. Older wastewater treatment facilities must be upgraded to cope with stricter discharge limits, as well as increased capacities.

The Wusong facility, capable of treating wastewater production of 70 thousand households, is a good example of what is happening city-wide. Wusong is located in a densely populated area where the water quality limits have become stricter (effluent limits to Class 1B.)

The facility was upgraded with a conventional activated sludge technology, but due to the heavy loads on this plant, it could not function properly, resulting in odor issues and improper phosphate removal. All while neighborhoods encroached ever-closer to the site.

MM2100, INDONESIA

Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia

Located in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia, MM2100 is one of the leading industrial parks in the country with over 135,000 employees on site.

Founded in 1989, this high-profile multinational park spreads over 3,000 acres and had an existing wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) that was large, unsightly and emitted bad odors with a capacity of only 20 MLD.

This minimized capacity was not enough to serve the tenants and companies working in the park, which lead to them being unhappy with the conditions they had to work around. This led to MM2100 needing a bigger expansion on the WWTP but reduction on the amount of land the facility consumes.
